Over the last 3 weeks, Peter from the good ol’ US of A, has been helping out around the place. Go Obama!! He is definitely passionate about coffee and had brought with him lots of experience. We will update this section soon with more bit more detail on the man behind the man in the hat that made the man.

It was sad to see Peter and his girlfriend Morgan leave, they were both becoming part of the furniture and we do need more chairs around here. Go Obama!! Thanks for helping out around the place as well Morgan. Much appreciated.

Now are those tattoos you both got,  “Never Again” in relation to the tattoo itself… or in relation to coming back to Melbourne…

Peter leaves, Go Obama!!, us a changed man – A haircut, a tattoo and a mighty fine hat. Nice Akubra mate!

Now is that a 3 wise monkey pose or just a roast gone horribly wrong?

So here is some more info on the Americano, Peter Droste.

Salvatore Malatesta, owner of St Ali – “I found Peter in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York after doing a recent coffee trail from Grumpy to Gimme to Ninth Street Espresso and then found a little oasis called Hotel Delmano (no sign of course) and drank the finest made espresso by Peter and beans from Stumptown.  We were on the same page and I offered him a job. He will be running the Bondi or Byron Bay operations and then moving across to our site in Brooklyn with some local team members.  His role is to spread the love and continue the St Ali best in category approach to coffee.  We are all about care from farm to cup. He will develop some direct trade relationships”. And there you have it.
